There are several ways to control flooding or irrigation, both of which involve removing any water source, either temporarily or permanently. First, hire a reputable water restoration company and try to extract the water to be treated to make it safe before their arrival. Please only do it when removing water from your flooded home. If the water is removed too quickly and the ground is still wet, the walls and floors will bulge. Drain only one-third of the volume every day for water removal. Whenever there is standing water, remove it with pumps or pails, then mop it up with a wet/dry shop vacuum if there is any standing water.
