STAC Application Deadline for High Performance funding Extended
2008-09-23

As is the Saskatchewan Triathlon Association's normal practice, we asked any Saskatchewan athlete's who wished to be considered for high performance funding to submit applications by August 31st, 2008. We have received a number of requests and the STAC High Performance Committee will be considering those applications.

To ensure that no potential high performance athletes are left out from this funding possibility, we have extended the deadline until September 30th, 2008. I have attached guidelines that the athlete would have to meet to be considered for the funding. An application form has been attached as well. If there are any athletes at your club who have not applied but would qualify for consideration, please encourage them to submit an application to the Saskatchewan Triathlon Association by the above deadline.

KidSport® - WestJet Partnership
2008-09-23

A partnership has been developed between KidSport® Canada and WestJet Airlines where a limited amount of airline tickets are being provided to Provincial KidSport Chapters to allocate travel support. The following general criteria will apply:

• Applicants must use the standard KidSport application (see attached PDF file). Please note that for this special sponsorship most standard Provincial KidSport® screening guidelines will be waived, except for age and financial disadvantage (i.e. only youth up to the age of 18 can be supported).
• For this sponsorship, travel support eligibility has been broadened to enable special consideration to any disabled athlete(s).
• Athlete's travel assistance must be to inter-provincial youth events and/or training camps.
• The WestJet airline tickets (which include taxes paid) are valid to anywhere West Jet flies in Canada, but must be utilized by December 31, 2008.

Saskatchewan has been allocated up to ten (10) tickets, so this opportunity will be dealt with first-come first-served.

Applications must be submitted to KidSport® Saskatchewan by the provincial sport organization that is seeking the support, and should include all pertinent applicant information as per the standard KidSport application (such as the name, age and address of the child/youth). Be sure to also include the event information (name of event, dates, location) for which the ticket is being requested.

Notification of approval may take a few weeks to process, so you are urged to submit requests as soon as possible. Please contact the Chris Chepil at the Provincial KidSport® office if you have any questions at (306) 780-9345 or email:
